About Me

About Suzie Pacheco

The Artist

From my first big box of Crayola Crayons, to the present, with a full working art studio, creating art has been my goal and driving force.

Raised in a family of artists, there was never any question that an artists life would be my future, also.

Following in my sister’s footsteps, the road was laid out for me.
In and out of the Museum School in Boston, continuous life drawing, working with incredible mentors, brought me up to the working place that I enjoy today. That place includes painting in oil on canvas or board, in my dedicated studio in Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard.

Having come the the Vineyard in the late 1960’s as a new bride, I was inspired to create a body of work on life underwater, the swimmer series. It incorporates my life drawing skills with my fascination with the beautiful distortion of the seas, and the figures moving through them.

As an artist, I cannot live on Martha’s Vineyard without witnessing the profound beauty of the landscape here. Every road, every season, offers something intensely beautiful and inspiring. I’ve tried to capture some of those vistas into my landscapes.
